Fort Loramie recognized for excellence: Redskins ranked number 2 out of public schools of all sizes in Dayton region.

The Dayton Business Journal released a report in the State of the Schools December 2, 2016 issue that ranked Fort Loramie Local Schools at number 2 out of public schools of all sizes in the Dayton region.

Oakwood City Schools was ranked number 1. The schools’ placements were determined by their Performance Index score, which can be found on the Ohio Department of Education website. Performance Index scores measure the achievement of every student regardless of their level of proficiency. Schools receive points for every level of achievement.

Fort Loramie’s results in each of the categories measured were presented in the report, as follows:

2016 Performance index score: 102.04 out of 120
· 2016 performance index letter grade: B
· 2016 percent standards met: 82.1
· 2016 enrollment: 756 students
· 2016 attendance rate: 98 percent
· 2015 performance index score: 90.54 percent
· 2015 attendance rate: 97 percent
· 2014-2015 4-year graduation rate: 100 percent


Other area schools were also featured within the top 20 on the list. Anna was 4th; Botkins, 6th; Russia, 8th; and Jackson Center, 18th.
